Privacy Policy
FreightBoard ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Data we collect
Information you give us
- Account data — name, email, phone, company, MC / DOT numbers, role.
- Operational data — loads, carriers, customers, drivers, assets, rates, invoices, and related documents you enter into or upload to the Service ("Customer Data").
- Billing data — processed by our payment provider; we store only a reference and the last four digits of the card.
- Support communications — emails and chat messages you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, device type, browser, approximate location from IP.
- Tracking link breadcrumbs — when a driver opens a shared tracking link, we record GPS coordinates, timestamps, and device identifiers so the load origin can verify proof-of-location.
- Cookies — strictly-necessary authentication cookies and (with your consent) analytics cookies.
2. How we use your data
- Operate and secure the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your data isolated from other tenants.
- Bill you and process payments.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics that do not identify you or your customers.
3. How we share your data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Subprocessors we use to run the Service: Supabase (database + auth), Vercel (hosting), Google Maps (geocoding, directions), FMCSA (carrier lookup). Each is contractually bound to protect your data.
- Integrations you enable — ELD, telematics, accounting, factoring, load-board vendors. Data shared with these is governed by their own policies.
- Legal authorities when required by valid legal process.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Tracking links and proof-of-location
Tracking links generate a public token that, when opened, records breadcrumbs. Anyone who has the link URL can see the current location until the link is finalized. You control who receives the link. If you need to revoke a link, do so from the tracking dashboard.
5. How long we keep data
We keep Customer Data for as long as your account is active and for up to 30 days after cancellation unless you request earlier deletion. Some records (invoices, audit logs) are retained longer where legally required. Aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (CCPA, GDPR, etc.), you may have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your data (subject to legal retention);
- export your data in a portable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time.
Email support@freightboard.io to exercise any of these rights.
7. Security
We use row-level database isolation, HTTPS everywhere, encrypted backups, and the principle of least privilege. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please report it to support@freightboard.io.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. International transfers
We operate primarily in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to your data being processed in the US.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
